Lysos

Lysos is a beautiful mountain village in the Paphos district of Cyprus, bordering the Paphos Pine Forest, and 15 minutes drive from the traditional town of Polis with its full range of amenities and 20 minutes drive from the upmarket fishing marina and crystal clear waters at Latchi.

Lysos is built 560 metres above sea level which means that it is far above the humidity level resulting in milder summers and offers stupendous views across the valleys and down to Polis Chrysochous Bay.

There are a number of charming coffee shops as well as local provisions stores and the village square is dominated by the late 15th, early 16th century church dedicated to St. Mary Chryseleousa.

As is the case with many of the smaller villages, many Cypriots  who were born here return when they older with families of their own, so Lysos has a delightful mixture of both long standing Cypriot families and people from overseas who have chosen to make this lovely part of the island home.

One of the highlights of Lysos is the splendid Paradisos Hills Hotel with its 27 rooms all finished to a high standard with a restaurant serving top quality local and international meals to residents and non-residents alike. The breath-taking uninterrupted views from here are outstanding.

For many people Lysos represents the ‘Real’ Cyprus
